The Cretaceous sediments of Elharra area are divided into five rock units, viz. :Bahariya, ElHeiz, ElHefhuf, Naqb, and Qatrani Formations.
The Bahariya Formation is the lowest and the oldest beds outcropping in ElHarra area. They are sub l1111111northeastern part of the Bahariya Oases. This study resulted in the member divisions and the palaeontological zonation of the Cenomanian rocks, as well as it records the age rectifying of the lower and the upper economic iron-ore beds at
ElHarra area.
